USF, Tulsa, UCF and Temple Earn Men's Soccer Weekly Accolades

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer honors for the week ending Sunday, Sept. 9.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Tomasz Skublak * Sr. * F * USF

Skublak was responsible for both USF goals last week, netting the Bulls’ first score of the season against Creighton on Sept. 3 and the game winner at Ohio State on Friday. USF fell to the No. 20 Bluejays by a 2-1 score, nearly completing the comeback, before earning its first win of the season by a 1-0 tally against the Buckeyes.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Koray Easterling * Jr. * D * Tulsa
Easterling notched all 108 minutes in Tulsa’s lone game of the week – a 2-1 double-overtime victory over New Mexico. The Golden Hurricane permitted just nine shots (three on goal) from the Lobos, including just two in the overtime periods. Tulsa has won back-to-back games to sit 3-1-1 overall.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Yannik Oettl * So. * UCF

Oettl earned his first shutout of the season on Friday, helping UCF to a 1-0 victory over West Virginia. He made three saves as UCF permitted just five shots from the Mountaineers, who received 25 votes in last week’s United Soccer Coaches poll. Oettl and the Knights are unbeaten in their last three contests.
 
Rookie of the Week
Jalen Campbell * Fr. * F * Temple
Campbell put in the golden goal to lift Temple over Rider on Wednesday, sealing a 1-0 win four minutes into overtime. The tally was the first on his young career as he finished a cross to the inside near post. Campbell has started all five contests on the season thus far.

Scored the lone goal in UConn’s 1-0 win over Dartmouth on Saturday, keeping the Huskies undefeated at home

Buried the game-winning goal for the Tigers in a 1-0 win over Utah Valley on Sunday
 
Adam Habib * So. * F * Tulsa
Lifted Tulsa to a 2-1 double-overtime win over New Mexico, scoring the winning goal in the 108th minute after playing just eight minutes
 
Gilles Kuhler * Fr. * F * Tulsa
Registered his team-leading third goal of the season with the contest’s opening score in Tulsa’s 2-1 win over New Mexico
