PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The American Athletic Conference women's soccer week four awards have a familiar feel after three different student-athletes earned their second honor of the season. Overall, it was the second 11-win week for The American as its teams combined to go 11-5-2.
Offensive Player of the Week
Clarissa Larisey * So. * F * Memphis
Larisey nets her second accolade of the season as she took home the first honor of the year and makes it back-to-back weeks for Memphis with the top offensive player. The sophomore exploded for four goals in a 3-0 week for the Tigers as she scored in every game. She netted two scores at Samford including the gamewinner. She paces The American with seven goals this year.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jayda Hylton-Pelaia * Jr. * D * ECU
In a second repeat of week one, Hylton-Pelaia also takes home her second defensive awards of the. ECU has now garnered the honor in all but one week. The Pirates third-year defender was key in two shutouts and added the game-winning goal against Campbell and assisted on a score in another clean sheet against Charlotte.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Claudia Eustaquio * Jr. * Cincinnati
Eustaquio came up huge for the Bearcats in one the biggest games on The American slate thus far as she led Cincinnati to a scoreless draw against No. 16-ranked Kansas. She came up with six saves for her second career shutout as she blanked a Jayhawks team that averages nearly two goals per game.
Rookie of the Week
Courtney Sebazco * Fr. * MF * SMU
Sebazco is the third two-time winner of the week as she scored twice for an SMU team that continues to receive votes in the national top-25 poll. The freshman, who garnered the week two rookie honor, scored the first and final goals in a 5-2 win over FIU.
