PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American posted another strong week of women's soccer action with an 11-5-2 mark in week three which was highlighted by another two more wins by league-leading Memphis, another victory by nationally-ranked USF and an impressive draw by Cincinnati against then-No. 16 Kansas. UCF also kicked off the final week of nonconference play with a 3-0 victory against a Florida team that was receiving votes in the national rankings.
The USF Bulls continue to climb in the coaches polls as they are now ranked No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches poll and No. 17 in the TopDrawer Soccer rankings. SMU is also receiving top-25 votes for the third-consecutive week.
The top-four teams in the American have each only suffered a single loss and boast a 19-4-3 overall record. The Bulls and Mustangs are joined by five-win ECU and Memphis (6-1-0).
The Tigers earned two more shutouts last week and now boast six clean sheets on the year. They rank eighth nationally with an .833 shutout percentage. Memphis also boasts the No. 17 scoring offense in the country with 2.83 goals per game.
Individually, Memphis sophomore Clarissa Larisey was one of three American student-athletes to earn her second weekly honor. Larisey netted four goals last week to lead the league in scoring and now ranks fifth in the nation in scoring average (1.00).
Additionally, the Tigers Elizabeth Moberg is sixth amongst all goalkeepers across the land with five clean sheets.
