Tulane 3, Southeastern Louisiana 0
Tulane tallied its ninth sweep of the season on Tuesday night, defeating Southeastern Louisiana on the road in three sets to improve to 9-3 on the year. Middle hitter Dayna Kern led the Green Wave with 10 kills on 11 total attacks, adding a hitting percentage of .818. The Green Wave ended the match with a .363 attacking percentage, holding the Lions to a final -.010. Tulane returns home to New Orleans this weekend, hosting the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Classic on Sept. 14 and 15 at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
Memphis 3, Ole Miss 2.
After dropping the opening set, Memphis (7-5) battled back and outlasted Ole Miss 3-2 in Oxford, Miss., to capture its fifth-straight win. Each of the final four sets came down to the last five points. Hannah Flowers knocked down a career-high 20 kills with a .405 hitting percentage, while Kelsea Bivins and Molly Murrihy each had a double-double. Memphis led 12-10 in blocks, as Kelsey Walter accounted for seven of the Tigers’ stuffs. Memphis hit .214 in the win. The Tigers are back in action this weekend at the Dig the District Invitational in Washington, D.C.
