Highlights
- Personal, facility and school records continued to fall over the weekend, as all 12 American Athletic Conference indoor track and field teams were in action.

The UConn men competed in the Columbia Challenge at the Armory in New York City, claiming nine top-10 finishes and winning the 800-meter run. Tyler Gleen ran the 800m for the first time this season and just missed setting a new personal best while winning the event. Gleen took the top spot by clocking in at 1:50.49.

The Huskies’ women’s team also faced a tough field at the same event, notching 22 top-20 finishes during the meet and continued their streak of setting personal bests. The UConn 4x400-meter relay team of Taylor Woods, Kat Surin, Susan Aneno and Kristina Cherrington registered a podium finish, taking third place with its time of 3:45.64.

Temple also made the trip to New York City, as the Owls’ distance medley relay squad of Helene Gottlieb, Millie Howard, Marissa White and Grace Moore crushed the program record by over 13 seconds with their time of 11:23.03 to start off the weekend action. On Saturday, several Temple runners earned podium finishes while Aisha Brown cleared 1.75 meters in the high jump, good for an indoor and personal-best, earning third place overall.

Cincinnati’s Katie Straus scored 3,587 points and won the women's pentathlon at the Thundering Herd Invitational on Friday. Setting several personal records, Straus was the top finisher in the 60-meter hurdles (8.97), tied for first in the shot put (10.64m) and set a pentathlon PR mark of 5.22m in the long jump. Quincy Mitchell (6.91) placed second in the 60m dash and Cannon Riddle (4,702 points) took third in the heptathlon on Saturday.

The Knights posted six personal bests on the opening day of the meet and posted 22 top-10 finishes throughout the Bob Pollock Invitational in Clemson, S.C. Nelda Huggins ran one of the top 60m dashes in the conference with her time of 7.35. Imani Clark placed third in the 200-meter dash (23.82). Gabby Durant posted her second podium finish in as many weeks in the weight throw with a 63-5/19.33m toss to finish third.

ECU won three events and set a pair of school records at the Penn State National Open. Bria Stith put up a huge number in the pentathlon, racking up a program-record 3,587 points. That mark puts her second in the conference and 30th nationally. Senior Nick Ciaccia also set a school record in the 5,000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 14:22.67, which gives him the top spot in The American and a No. 22 national rank. Freshman Anna Bristle continued a strong debut campaign, winning the women's 5,000-meter run in 16:59.81. She ranks second in the league.

On opening day of the Houston Invitational, senior thrower Taylor Scaife broke her own school record in the weight throw for the third-consecutive week with a toss that traveled 74-3.75 (22.65m) on her final attempt of the competition. Her mark also stands as a facility record, as her throw moves her to No. 1 in the NCAA this season. Jazmyn Tilford-Rutherford picked up a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash. Tilford-Rutherford raced two laps around the track in 57.90 to take the victory.

The records continued to fall for the Cougars on Saturday with Kahmari Montgomery and Obi Igbokwe each snapping 14-year-old facility records to highlight the competition.  Montgomery's winning time of 46.28 in the 400-meter dash bested the previous facility record from 2008 and ranks fifth in the nation this year. Igbokwe cruised to a win in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.85, which set the facility record, ranks No. 1 in The American and third in the nation this season. The Cougars’ men’s and women’s teams combined to claim five more titles and numerous podium finishes.

Hannah Miller shined for SMU at the Houston Invitational as the distance runner won both the mile and the 5000 meters. Miller ran a 16:22.83 in the 5,000m to easily win the event and break the meet record before running 4:54.93 to win the mile. Chelsea Francis took home the top spot in the 60m dash, with her time of 7.28.

After Adriana Janic won the pentathlon at the  Houston Invitational with 3,844 points on Friday, the Bulls claimed five individual titles on Saturday at the Hawkeye Invitational. Janic ranks seventh in the NCAA this season. Chelsea Francis also claimed the individual title in the 200 meters with a time of 24.48 and ran for second place in the 60m dash with her time of 7.48. Imani Carmouche (high jump), Arielle Boone (triple jump), Stephanie Lambeth (pole vault) and David Bell (pole vault) also placed first in their respective events.

For the third time in as many meets this indoor season, Memphis’ DeeNia McMiller reset her school record in the women's weight throw. McMiller surpassed her previous 66-5 (20.24m) school-record mark with a 66-11.25 (20.40m) effort at the A-State Invitational. Her toss ranks second in The American and 21st in the nation this season. Memphis’ men’s and women’s teams combined to win 10 titles at the event.

Tulane had a strong showing in the pole vault at the Texas Tech Classic. Nastja Modic won the 'B' Section of the pole vault when she cleared 3.87 meters on her first try at on Friday, as Rebekah Markel finished second on the ‘A’ section on Saturday after clearing 4.07 meters. The Green Wave recorded three new top-10 marks in program history on Saturday.

Tulsa picked up six event wins at the Pittsburg State Invitational on Saturday. Tulsa would make its biggest splash in the 3,000 meters, as Scott Beattie managed a 8:13.17 to set the meet record, along with picking up first-place overall. On the women's side, Caitlin Klopfer would set a personal-best time of 9:39.53 for third overall. The Golden Hurricane swept the 5,000 and 800-meter runs. Jenny O’Bryan (5,000m), Ben Preisner (5,000m), Allison Bailey (600m), Robert Tully (800m) and Sabrina Monsees (800m) were each first-place finishers.

The Shockers had a busy weekend, sending athletes to compete at both the Air Force Invitational and the Pittsburg State Invitational from Jan. 24-26. The women’s team won the Air Force Invitational with 141 points, while the men placed third. Sydney Wilson won the pentathlon with 3,586 points. Rayvon Allen and Isaiah Evans each won their respective event on Friday. Allen placed first in the long jump with a mark of 7.47m/24-6.25. Evans won the weight throw in historic fashion with a mark of 19.49m/63-11.5. Allen also won the 200m dash on Saturday with his time of 21.59. Kelsey Slawson and Amiya Anoma led the Shocker women to individual event titles on day three of the event. Slawson won the shot put with a mark of 15.44m/50-8. Anoma won the triple jump with a mark of 12.65m/41-6, leaping up four spots to No. 3 on the Shocker all-time list.

Wichita State’s distance runners also set 11 personal bests at the Pitt State Invitational on Saturday. Rebekah Topham highlighted the day winning the 3000m with a time of 9:26.76, setting a Robert W. Plaster Center – Harvey Dean Track facility record.
