PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Nine American Athletic Conference football players have been chosen to their respective CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams, placing each of them on the ballot for Academic All-America honors.
The 2019 Academic All-District Football Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 and be a starter or key reserve.
First Team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced December 9-12.
The American Athletic Conference has had eight players achieve Academic All-America status since the league's formation in 2013.
