Tulsa's Rachal, Memphis' Quinones Earn Men's Basketball Weekly Awards

PROVIDENCE, R.I.—The American Athletic Conference announced its weekly men’s basketball honors for Nov. 18.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brandon Rachal, Jr., G, Tulsa
Rachal averaged 27.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game and shot 75.0 percent from the field in two wins for the Golden Hurricane last week. He turned in the first 30-point performance of the season for The American with 30 points, seven rebounds and five steals against Austin Peay on Saturday. Against Oral Roberts on Nov. 12, he had 24 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Lester Quinones, G, Memphis
Quinones averaged 18.5 points and 6.0 rebounds as the Tigers went 1-1 last week. The guard had 16 points, four assists and a pair of steals against No. 14 Oregon on Tuesday before securing his first career double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds against Alcorn State on Saturday.
 
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
 
Christian Vital, Sr., G, UConn
Vital averaged a double-double with 20.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game as the Huskies went 1-1.
 
Isiaha Mike, Jr., F, SMU
Mike averaged 23.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two Mustang wins last week. He shot 68.4 percent from the field and 63.6 percent from behind the arc.
 
Nate Pierre-Louis, Jr., G, Temple
Pierre-Louis produced his third double-double in as many games with 21 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in a road win at La Salle.
 
Teshaun Hightower, Jr., G, Tulane
Hightower helped lead the Green Wave to two victories by averaging 20.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
 
Jamarius Burton, So., G, Wichita State
Burton recorded 18 points, six rebounds and five assists and was 4-of-5 from 3-point range in 22 minutes in the Shockers’ win over UT Martin.
