Navy's Perry, Cincinnati's Forrest, Houston's Roy Earn Weekly Football Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the 13th week of the 2019 college football season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Malcolm Perry • Navy • Sr. • QB • Clarksville, Tenn.
Perry helped Navy remain in the hunt for an American West Division title as he led the Midshipmen to a 35-28 win against No. 21 SMU. Perry rushed for 195 yards and two touchdowns on a career-high 38 carries, while he completed 9 of 15 passes for 162 yards and a TD. Perry’s 70-yard touchdown run with 6:11 left broke a 28-28 tie and capped Navy’s comeback from a 21-10 halftime deficit.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Darrick Forrest • Cincinnati • Jr. • S • Columbus, Ohio
Forrest had a team-high eight tackles and made a game-clinching interception in Cincinnati’s 15-13 win against Temple, clinching The American’s East Division title. Forrest’s interception came on Temple’s final possession, giving the ball back to the Bearcats with 1:19 left.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dane Roy • Houston • Sr. • P • Bunyip, Australia
Roy helped Houston win the field position battle, which proved to be instrumental in the Cougars’ 24-14 win at Tulsa. Roy averaged 44.4 yards on eight punts, putting six inside the 20-yard line. Roy’s last three punts were all downed inside the 10-yard line, including one that was downed at the 2.

Completed 24 of 46 passes for 317 yards and a touchdown and had a team-high 58 rushing yards in a 34-31 win at Tulane.
 
Holton Ahlers • ECU • So. • QB
Completed 34 of 50 passes for 374 yards and a touchdown in a 31-24 win at UConn.
 
Patrick Taylor Jr. • Memphis • Sr. • RB
Rushed for 95 yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries in a 49-10 win at USF.
 
CJ Sanders • SMU • Sr. • WR
Had 151 all-purpose yards, including a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, in a 35-28 loss at Navy.
 
Stephon Huderson • Tulane • Jr. • RB
Had 109 all-purpose yards, including a 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, in a 34-31 loss to UCF.
