SMU, Houston Split American Swimming and Diving Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly swimming and diving honors for the week ending Sunday, Nov. 24.
 
Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Caleb Rhodenbaugh * Jr. * SMU

Rhodenbaugh swam the fastest 200 breaststroke heat in The American this season (11th-fastest in the NCAA) in a winning time of 1:55.60, adding an NCAA B-cut in the 100 breaststroke prelims (:54.10) during the SMU Invitational in Dallas.
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Peyton Kondis * Sr. * Houston
Kondis posted the fourth-fastest time in the 100 breaststroke (:59.16) in the NCAA this season, adding the 15th-fastest 200 breaststroke time (2:09.60) and 30th-fastest 200 IM time (1:58.20) nationally while competing at the Phill Hansel Invitational in Houston, Texas. All three times were program records and qualified as NCAA B-cuts.
 
Men’s Diver of the Week
Peter Smithson * Fr. * SMU
Smithson claimed victories in the 3-meter dive (358.85 points) and the platform dive (350.10 points), and was the runner-up off the 1-meter board (318.65 points) at the SMU Invitational in Dallas.
 
Women’s Diver of the Week
Lauren Burrell * Sr. * Houston
Burrell swept the 1-meter dive (288.20 points) and the 3-meter dive (311.85 points) events competing at the Phill Hansel Invitational in Houston, Texas.
