Memphis' Gainwell, Temple's Roche Named to Sporting News All-America Team

With the 2019 college football regular season complete, major national outlets have begun to announce their respective All-America teams.

The American continues to be well-represented on the national stage. Temple defensive end Quincy Roche, the conference's 2019 Defensive Player of the Year, joins Memphis running back Kenneth Gainwell, the 2019 Rookie of the Year, on the Sporting News All-America Team, while Temple center Matt Hennessy was chosen as a third-team All-America by the Associated Press. James Proche of SMU was named as a second-team wide receiver by the Football Writers Association of America.

Roche was a first-team selection by Sports Illustrated and was a second-team choice by USA Today.
