PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Temple center Matt Hennessy has been chosen as one of three finalists for the 2019 Rimington Trophy, which is presented annually to the top center in college football.

Hennessy joins Wisconsin's Tyler Biadasz and Oklahoma's Creed Humphrey as finalists for the award.

In his third season as a starter, Hennessy is the captain of an experienced offensive line that has been one of the best in the Amreican Athletic Conference. Hennessy also allowed only four total pressures this season and no sacks in the 11 games he played.

Hennessy was chosen as the American Athletic Conference's first team all-conference center in 2019. He was named as a Midseason All-America selection by the Associated Press.

The winner of the Rimington Trophy will be presented live during the ESPNU Red Carpet Show on Thursday, December 12, 2019 immediately preceding the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show. Both shows will originate from the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia.
