PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for the third week of the 2019 season.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lindsey Stewart· Jr. · OF · Houston
Stewart bolstered the best offensive week her career, leading the Cougars to a perfect week of competition with a 6-0 mark after collecting 12 RBI, a double, two triples and a homer. She scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh in Houston’s comeback victory at McNeese and had a pair of walk-off hits in the Cougars’ Saturday victories over Northern Illinois and Kennesaw State.

Alea White · Jr. · RHP · UCF
White tossed a no-hitter on Friday night against then 10-1 Coastal Carolina with a career-high 12 strikeouts to move into fifth place all-time in wins in UCF history. White followed up her Friday performance by tossing 15 innings across Saturday’s action, and finished the weekend with a 3-0 record and 23 strikeouts while allowing only one extra base hit in 22 innings of work.

Cassady Brewer · Sr. · C · UCF
Brewer collected three doubles and drove in six RBI as part of her weekend and started a rally against Penn State in the sixth inning on Saturday as the Knights came back to win 3-2 in eight innings. Two of her three doubles came with the bases loaded.
AnaMarie Bruni · Jr. · OF · USF
Bruni batted .545 (6-for-11) in USF’s 4-1 weekend, collecting four RBI and stealing three bases.
She hit her first career home run with a three-run shot against Texas State in a 3-0 victory and drew four walks across the weekend.
Georgina Corrick · So. · RHP · USF
Corrick made four appearances with a pair of starts, tallying wins over Virginia Tech and Texas State. She tossed 12.1 innings, allowing two runs and eight hits, including just one extra-base hit as she struck out six batters and improved to 5-1 on the season.
Bailee Nickerson · So. · OF · Wichita State
Nickerson had a pair of doubles and two home runs over the weekend, driving in five RBI. She drove in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning against Abilene Christian and extended her hitting streak to a personal-best eight games.
Caitlin Bingham · So. ·RHP · Wichita State
Bingham tossed a pair of complete games as she went 2-1 in three appearances, including the Shockers’ nine-inning victory over Abilene Christian. She recorded 17 strikeouts in 18.1 innings and allowed three runs (one earned) and 10 hits.
