Entering the 2019 American softball season we're taking a look at each team around the league. The Houston Cougars return five All-Conference players and will host the 2019 American Softball Championship in May.

-Houston returns all five of its All-Conference players from a year ago, including infielder Arielle James, who led the team with a .360 average and had 28 RBIs in 2018.

-In the circle, senior Savannah Heebner had a 1.15 ERA and 25 wins in 2018, both conference bests, as she earned American Pitcher of the Year honors.

-Infielder sarah Queen (team-high 10 HR) and outfielder Maya Thomas (.313 avg) both return after All-Conference seasons, as does All-Rookie team member Aspen Howie.
