PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for the fifth week of the 2019 season.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
AnaMarie Bruni · Jr. · OF · USF
Bruni went 12-for-19 in six games last week for a .632 average, scoring eight runs from the top of the USF lineup. She had four multi-hit games, including a pair of three-hit games, and added a double and a triple to her final stat line. Bruni was a perfect 5-for-5 in on the base paths as the Bulls recorded five wins.

Alea White · Jr. · RHP · UCF
White made her 100th appearance as a Knight last week as she posted 4-0 record. She struck out 29 batters in 26 innings of work, including 11 against Chattanooga, just one shy of her career high. White held opposing batters to 13 hits and allowed two runs while leading UCF to a five-win week.

Cassady Brewer · Sr. · C · UCF
Brewer led the Knights in hits and RBI this week, going 9-for-21 and driving in four runs. She tallied a pair of doubles and a home run at the plate, while defensively, she caught a pair of would-be base-stealers.
Sarah Barker· Sr. · OF · Houston
Barker posted two multi-hit games on the way to a .600 average at the plate last week, tallying a triple and scoring six runs as the Cougars recorded a pair of wins in California.
Ashley Threatt · Sr. · 1B · Memphis
Threatt led the Tigers at the plate last week with a .571 batting average, driving in a pair of RBI and collecting her first home run of the season. She also reached base in every game while also scoring a pair of runs.
Nicole Doyle· Sr. · RHP · USF
Doyle was 3-1 in the circle last week in five appearances, tossing 17.1 innings allowing five runs. She struck out 11 batters and was part of a combined shutout against Central Michigan.
Erin McDonald· So. ·RHP · Wichita State
McDonald recorded a pair of wins and a save in four appearances last week across 18 innings, including tossing a no-hitter Sunday against Nebraska. She struck out nine batters while allowing four runs.
