Florida Trio and Vanderbilt's Gross Earn Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s lacrosse honors, for the week ending Monday, March 11.
 
Attacker of the Week
Lindsey Ronbeck * Sr. * Florida

Ronbeck’s prolific season continued this past week as Florida went 2-0. In a 15-5 win at Elon, she scored twice on four shots, including a free-position goal. Two days later, the senior put forth a five-goal, two-assist performance for seven points at High Point and tallied a career-high 10 draw controls. Her goal with 3:39 remaining tied the contest for the final time, and she assisted on Shannon Kavanagh’s goal moments later to secure a 16-15 win for the Gators. Ronbeck has notched a hat trick or better in five of six games on the season and leads The American with 4.33 goals per game.
 
Midfielder of the Week
Shannon Kavanagh * So. * Florida
Kavanagh totaled six goals and an assist for seven points in Florida’s 2-0 week. Against Elon, she scored a goal while collecting four draw controls and causing a turnover before finding the back of the net five times against High Point. Kavanagh’s final goal of the day proved to be the game-winner against the Panthers with 3:17 remaining in the Gators’ 16-15 victory. She grouped her career-high goal performance with two ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers for an all-around performance.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Haley Hicklen * Sr. * GK * Florida

Hicklen made 19 saves over two games for Florida, upping her record to 3-3 between the pipes on the season. She made seven stops in the Gators’ 15-5 win at Elon in 53 minutes of action and collected a ground ball. Two days later, Hicklen recorded 11 saves at High Point and recorded a season-high five ground balls en route to a 16-15 win. For the week, she finished with a .462 save percentage.
 
Freshman of the Week
Bri Gross * M * Vanderbilt

Gross earned her second Freshman of the Week honor this season following a 1-1 week for Vanderbilt. At Arizona State on March 5, she set a career-high with seven draw controls in the Commodores’ 15-14 victory. Gross then did a little bit of everything at San Diego State, scoring a goal with four draw controls, a ground ball and two caused turnovers in Vanderbilt’s narrow 14-15 double-overtime loss.

Recorded back-to-back hat tricks, including three scores against La Salle and four against UMBC, in a 2-0 week for Temple; scored both game-winners and totaled two ground balls
 
Bridget Whitaker * So. * M * Temple
Scored two goals and dished out three assists with two ground balls, two draw controls and four caused turnovers in Temple’s 16-12 at UMBC; converted on her only free-position attempt for a .667 shot percentage
 
Hadley Brown * Sr. * A * Vanderbilt
Totaled five goals with back-to-back multi-goal games in Vanderbilt’s 1-1 week; scored twice in the Commodores’ 15-14 win at Arizona State and followed with three goals, including a free-position score, in a 14-15 double-overtime loss at San Diego State
