Tulsa’s Neal and Pochop Collect Weekly Softball Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for the sixth week of the 2019 season.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Morgan Neal · Sr. · INF · Tulsa
Neal helped Tulsa to a perfect 5-0 week, which included a win at No. 14 Arkansas, by hitting .389 with three doubles, four runs scored and five RBI. She tied a season-high with three hits in the first game against Kansas and had multiple RBI in three of the five games during the week.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Samantha Pochop · So. ·RHP · Tulsa
Pochop won both of her appearances last week, including tossing the 22nd no-hitter in program history and first seven-inning no-hitter since 2014 with her victory over Nebraska. In 11.2 innings, she allowed three hits and one run while striking out 12 batters.
 
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Tamesha Glover · Jr. · INF · UCF
Glover hit .500 in three games last week with a pair of stolen bases. In the doubleheader with Stetson, she collected three doubles and a homer and drove in three RBI.
 
Marybeth Olson · So. · RHP · UConn
Olson recorded three wins and had four appearances last week, including a complete game victory over South Dakota. In 20.0 innings, she allowed two unearned runs and 12 hits while striking out 21 batters.

Rachel McCollum · R-Jr. · INF · ECU
McCollum hit .417 with three doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI, including three multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games, to help ECU to a 5-2 week on the road.
 
Whitney Sanford · So. · RHP · ECU
Sanford went 4-0 with a pair of complete games in 25.1 innings last week, adding a victory in relief. She allowed five runs and struck out 12 batters in her five appearances.
 
AnaMari Bruni · Jr. · OF · USF
Bruni hit .480 over seven games last week with a pair of doubles and a triple, while driving in five RBI. She added three stolen bases and carries a 15-game hitting streak into this week’s action.
