The American has six teams (Tulsa, Houston, USF, UCF, Wichita State and Memphis) ranked inside the top 75 in the latest NCAA Women's Softball RPI, tied for the fifth-most teams inside the top 75 among all conferences nationally. The American's four teams inside the top 40 RPI (Tulsa, Houston, USF, UCF) is tied with the ACC and Big 12 for the fourth-most nationally.

SLOWING IT DOWN
Entering this weekend's action, American teams have played 232 nonconference games though Wednesday, March 27. To date, The American has recorded 145 victories, with 29 remaining nonconference matchups on the regular season schedule.

WORKING OVERTIME
To date, American teams have played 19 extra-inning games in nonconference action this season, including a pair of nine inning contests on Wednesday, coming out with victories in 14 of the contests. The opening weekend of conference play saw two more extra-inning affairs last Friday night, as both the USF-Tulsa game and the ECU-Memphis matchup both went eight frames.

AMERICAN SOFTBALL ON YOUR SCREENS
Friday night's USF-Houston series opening contest will be the first of three regular season conference games in 2019 to appear on the American Digital Network. Lincoln Rose and Jill Jelnick will call the action, with Stephanie Gonzalez down on the field. The ADN will have two more games, on April 6 (Houston at Tulsa) and April 27 (Memphis at USF), before providing coverage of the 2019 American Softball Championship in May.
