PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for the fourth week of the 2019 season.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abby Odneal · Fr. · OF · Houston
Odneal hit .500 (9-for-18) over six games last week, including tallying a four-hit game against DePaul and the second home run of her career, a two-run shot that cemented the 9-3 win over Texas A&M. She finished the week with a pair of doubles and six RBI to go along with her homer and scored six runs while producing three putouts from the outfield, including a catch that prevented a double against Texas A&M.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Georgina Corrick · So. · RHP · USF
Corrick won her ninth straight game on Sunday with a career-high 14 strikeouts against Western Michigan. She appeared in four games last week, all complete game victories, and registered double-digit strikeouts in three games. Corrick recorded 43 strikeouts and allowed five earned runs while walking seven, including three intentional passes.
 
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Jazmine Esparza · Jr. · INF · UCF
Esparza collected a double, triple and four RBI last week, including an RBI single against No. 1 Florida State in UCF’s 2-1 loss. She went 3-for-3 against Dartmouth to open the weekend as UCF tallied three wins.
 
Alea White · Jr. · RHP · UCF
White made three appearances with a pair of starts, tallying wins over Dartmouth and Louisiana Tech while falling in a complete game effort against No. 1 Florida State despite not allowing an earned run. She tossed 15.1 innings and struck out 16 batters while earning her 50th win over the weekend.
 
Baylee Smith· So. · UTL · Memphis
Smith recorded three multi-hit games last week while hitting for a .429 average with a double and three home runs along with seven RBI. Smith hit two homers in the midweek contest against SEC foe Mississippi State and ended the week with a two-hit, two-steal game against Mississippi Valley State.
 
Laurie Derrico · Sr. · INF · Wichita State
Derrico hit her first three home runs of the season last week while tallying six RBI as part of a four-win week for Wichita State. She recorded five RBI and two homers in the win over Texas State and added her final homer against DePaul.
 
Caitlin Bingham · So. · RHP · Wichita State
Bingham tossed her fifth complete game of the season last week against Texas State and added a six inning effort against DePaul to her week. She struck out 12 and allowed two runs (one earned).
