American Athletic Conference Golf Weekly Honors - April 10

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly men's and women's golf honors for the eighth week of the spring golf season.

MEN'S GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jimmy Hervol - UConn - Sr. - Hopkinton, Mass.
Hervol posted a top-10 finish in a field of 81 golfers at the Clemson Invitational and finished seventh overall with to help UConn to a sixth-place finish at the prestigious event. The Huskies' senior got better every round and went low in the final two with a 68 on day two prior to a 64 in the final round as his 8-under mark tied the lowest round of his career. His three-round 206 was also the lowest of the season for Hervol.

WOMEN'S GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Laine Evans - Wichita State -Sr. - Wichita, Kan.
Evans led the Shockers last week to a bronze performance at the KC Intercollegiate as she posted two rounds of par or better to finished fourth overall. The senior started strong with a first-round 71 and also finished at par in her final round to her best career finish. Her three-round 221 was the ninth-lowest 54-hole score in program history. It was her third top-20 finish of the season.

Cincinnati senior Austin Squires carded a final-round 4-under par 67 Sunday to tie for 15th place at 3-under 73-70-67=210 at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn. Squires posted five birdies during the round, including three of his first six holes. He recorded only one bogie with 12 par scores Sunday. It marked his ninth Top 20 finish in as many events in 2018-19 ... Bradley Bawden fired an even-par 71 Sunday for Memphis at the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. Bawden finished in a tie for eighth at 6-under 207. He opened with a 4-under 67 and shot 69 during Saturday's second round. It was Bawden's second top-10 finish of the spring. He won the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate in February to open the spring season ... UCF capped off the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational with the third best round off all teams with a 281(-7) Sunday afternoon to move up four spots from Saturday's rounds to finish in 9th place with a three-round total of 862(-2) ... ECU finished in seventh-place with a 54-hole total of 2-under-par 850 (284-277-289) at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate. The Pirates shot 5-over-par 289 in Sunday's final round, finishing just two shots outside the top-five after starting the day in third-place ... Senior Gary McCabe had his best career finish and redshirt senior John Barone a shot four-under 67 for his final round Sunday to lead Temple to third place in the 13-team Princeton Invitational. The Owls shot a five-under 279 for their final round and the team's 54-hole total of 847 (-5) is a new program record ... Wichita State wrapped up play in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Tuesday. The Shockers finished 16th as a team, finishing ahead of Weber State, Utah State, CSU-Northridge and Old Dominion. Highlighting the individual results was Brock Polhill, who finished with a career low 54-hole score of 217 and his highest career finish after coming in a tie for 37th.

Wichita State senior Gavrilla Arya came up with her fourth top 20 finish of the season, compiling a 54-hole score of 226 to claim a tie for 11th. Annika Chickering claimed the highest finish of her career, also tying for 11th. Her 226 score tied a career low, last obtaining that score at the Payne Stewart Memorial in 2017 ... Houston senior All-American Leonie Harm will made history when she competed in the inaugural Augusta National Women's Amateur last weekend. Harm was part of an international field featuring 72 amateurs competing over 54 holes of stroke play ... Thunderstorms washed out the final round of the fourth annual Clemson Invitational at The Reserve at Lake Keowee on Tuesday afternoon. Tulane finished the tournament in 17th place with a score of 595. Senior Laura Munoz led all Green Wave individuals with a two-round total of 145 and finished tied for 35th ... Rains also canceled the final round for UCF which finished with 595 for seventh place. Maria Balcazar tied for 17th place with a two-round score of 147( 3) after shooting a 71(-1) in the first round and 76( 4) in the second.
