Wichita State’s Perrigan and USF’s Corrick Collect Weekly Softball Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for the 10th week of the 2019 season.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Madison Perrigan · Jr. · C · Wichita State
Perrigan helped Wichita State to a weekend sweep over Memphis, hitting .428 for the week with four doubles and a home run while driving in eight runs. She collected her homer on Wednesday at Arkansas to move into a tie for sixth in program history. All four of her doubles came over the weekend in conference play.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Georgina Corrick · So. · RHP · USF
Corrick pitched 25 innings last week, allowing one run to notch a 0.28 ERA. She pitched six innings against No. 6 Florida on Wednesday, allowing one hit. Over the weekend, Corrick tossed 13 innings for a complete game 2-0 shutout on Friday night against UCF and closed the weekend with a complete game win to complete the American sweep. She finished with 21 strikeouts and allowed one extra-base hit in her three appearances.

WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Olivia Sappington · R-So. · UTL · UConn
Olivia Sappington hit .364 last week, including a home run in midweek action against Boston College. She finished with a pair of RBI and scored a run in four games.
 
Maya Thomas · Sr. · OF · Houston
Thomas posted a .600 average last week with a pair of multi-hit games, including a three-hit game on Saturday against UConn. She scored a pair of runs and stole four bases, including a three-stolen base game in the series opener against the Huskies.

Rachel Hertenberger · Fr. · RHP · Houston
Hertenberger recorded a pair of appearances last week, tossing eight innings and allowing six hits and one run with seven walks. Her complete game win on Sunday was the first seven inning complete game of her career and also the first start of her career without allowing a walk.
 
Rylie Spell · Sr. · C · Tulsa
Spell led Tulsa to its fourth consecutive American series sweep last weekend, hitting .417 with a home run and four RBI. She recorded a pair of multi-hit games against ECU, including her three-run homer in Game 1 of the series.
 
AnaMarie Bruni · Jr. · OF · USF
Bruni batted .500 last week, recording a double, a triple and a home run while driving in two runs and scoring another. She stole three bases, and had three multi-hit games against UCF, including two three-hit games.
