Women's Tennis Notebook - UCF's Kuznetsova Earns Final Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its final weekly men’s and women’s tennis honors for the 2019 season.

Kuznetsova stepped into the No. 1 singles position for the first time this season in UCF’s 4-2 win against USF and responded with a straight-set victory against a nationally ranked opponent to help the Knights complete an 18-3 regular season. Kuznetsova took a 6-3, 6-2 win against USF’s No. 1 player, who was No 56 in the Oracle/ITA rankings of April 9. The singles win clinched the match for UCF, giving the Knights 17 wins in their final 18 matches of the regular season.

The 2019 American Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships will be held in April at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. The women’s championship takes place April 17-20, while the men’s championship will be played April 18-21.
