Florida and Cincinnati Collect Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s lacrosse honors, for the week ending Monday, April 1.
 
Attacker of the Week
Grace Haus * So. * Florida

Haus totaled seven points in Florida’s 2-0 week, including a career-high five points in the Gators’ 15-8 win over Temple. She registered a game-high four goals against the Owls and assisted on another, converting on two of her three free position chances. Earlier in the week, Haus found the back of the net twice on both of her shot attempts and collected a game-high four ground balls as Florida doubled up Brown by a 22-11 final.
 
Midfielder of the Week
Shannon Kavanagh * So. * Florida
Kavanagh continued her all-round impact for the Gators in a 2-0 week, recording nine points and 12 draw controls. Against Brown on Tuesday, the sophomore posted her fourth five-goal game of the season to hit the 100-career point mark, becoming just the sixth player in Florida history to reach the milestone. Kavanagh then notched her eighth hat trick of the year against Temple, adding an assist and collecting a season-high eight draw controls as Florida downed Temple 15-8 to start league play.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Giuliana Durso * Sr. * GK * Cincinnati

Durso made 11 saves between the pipes for Cincinnati as the Bearcats recorded their first-ever win over UConn on Saturday. The total marked her sixth double-digit save outing of the season and backstopped Cincinnati to a key 11-9 conference win. Durso posted a .550 save percentage while also collecting three ground balls and causing a turnover.
 
Freshman of the Week
Kylie Nause * M * Cincinnati

Nause posted her sixth-consecutive hat trick on Saturday, finding the net three times including a free-position goal in Cincinnati’s 11-9 win over UConn. She additionally caused a pair of turnovers and scooped five ground balls as the Bearcats earned their first-ever win over UConn. Nause has now gathered three-straight Freshman of the Week nods and is the conference’s top-scoring freshman (22 goals).

Posted three goals and an assist for four points, along with six ground balls, a draw control and five caused turnovers in  Cincinnati’s 11-9 victory over UConn; leads The American and sits fifth nationally with 63 points
 
Sabrina Cristodero * So. * D * Florida
Anchored Florida’s defense in a 2-0 week, totaling three ground balls, eight draw controls and a caused turnover; her eight total draw controls moved her into third all-time in Florida program history
 
Melanie Becker * Sr. * M * Vanderbilt
Scored twice and assisted on a third goal in Vanderbilt’s 14-10 conference win over ECU; added two ground balls, a caused turnover and a career-high seven draw controls, five of which led to Commodore scores
