Tulsa’s Perry and USF’s Corrick Collect Weekly Softball Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for the 11th week of the 2019 season.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alexis Perry · Jr. · INF · Tulsa
Perry helped Tulsa to its fifth straight American series win and second series sweep by hitting .545 with two doubles, a grand slam and six RBI. Perry had at least one hit in all four games and posted season highs with three hits and four RBI in the series finale against UCF.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Georgina Corrick · So. ·RHP · USF
Corrick went 2-0 with a pair of complete game shutouts against UConn last weekend while also recording a save. She pitched 14.2 innings without allowing a run, allowing nine hits and only one for extra bases. Corrick struck out 28 batters last week to reach and surpass the 200 strikeout mark for the season.

WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Cassady Brewer · R-So. · UTL · UCF 
Brewer hit .600 last week with a pair of doubles in the series against Tulsa. She two hits in each of the three games in the series, with the extra base hits coming in the first two games.
 
Maya Thomas · Sr. · OF · Houston
Thomas posted a .750 average last week with a pair of multi-hit games, including tallying four hits in the second game against Memphis. She added a pair of stolen bases and scored a run.

Samantha Pochop · So. · RHP · Tulsa
Pochop went 2-0 last week, earning the win in relief of Game 2 against UCF before allowing three hits and no walks with 10 strikeouts in the Game 3 start for her third double-digit strikeout game this season.
 
Macy Cook · Sr. · C · USF
Cook hit .300 last week with four RBI as USF swept UConn. She collected three RBI and a home run in Game 2 of the series while catching 21 innings behind the plate.
 
Bailee Nickerson· So. · OF · Wichita State
Nickerson batted .500 last week with a pair of home runs in the series win over ECU. She recorded a pair of two-hit games, finishing with four RBI in the series opener before driving in three runs in the finale.
