CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL | STANDINGS

UP FOR GRABS

The inaugural American Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championship field is set, with Cincinnati, Florida, Temple and Vanderbilt securing bids in the past two weeks. Seeding, along with the regular season title, are up for grabs in the final weekend.

Florida and Cincinnati will vie for the regular-season crown at Dizney Stadium on Saturday, with both teams entering the weekend unbeaten in conference play. The Gators are seeking their ninth-consecutive regular season conference title, while the Bearcats are in the midst of their best season in program history with 10 victories and four league wins. The winner of Saturday’s showdown will be the top seed for next week’s tournament.

Temple and Vanderbilt meet in Nashville on Saturday to determine the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds. The winner will meet the No. 2 seed in the semifinals and the loser will square off with the regular-season champion.

UConn and ECU are both looking to close out the season on a high note, with the final game set for noon in Greenville, N.C.
