PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for the ninth week of the 2019 season.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Briana Marcelino· So. · INF · UConn
Marcelino helped UConn to its second-straight American series win last week as she hit .611 with nine RBI. She recorded a four multi-hit games, tallying a pair of doubles and a home run in six games while also scoring seven runs.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Marybeth Olson · So. ·RHP · UConn
Olson recorded three victories, including a pair of complete game wins, last week. She tossed a no-hitter in midweek action against Hartford before earning two wins against Memphis in conference play. In 20.0 innings, she allowed nine hits and six runs (five earned) while striking out 28 batters.

Denali Schappacher · So. · OF · UCF
Schappacher hit .500 last week, including a pair of two-hit games against Wichita State in American action. She drove in one run and stole three bases.
Sarah Barker · Sr. · OF · Houston
Barker posted a .667 average last week with three multi-hit performances, including a pair of three-hit games. She tallied a home run in the first inning of Houston’s midweek win and added a double and two RBI to her week.
Ashley Threatt · Sr. · 1B · Memphis
Threatt hit .385 last week in five games. She collected six RBI in the first inning of the first game of a midweek doubleheader against Alcorn State. She finished the week with 10 RBI, two home runs and a double.
Julia Hollingsworth · Sr. · OF · Tulsa
Hollingsworth hit .364 for Tulsa with three extra-base hits and five RBI while adding four walks and scored six runs last week. She extended her own career triples record with a three-bagger against Kansas in midweek action.
Georgina Corrick · So. · RHP · USF
Corrick pitched 15 innings in two complete games victories for USF, including an extra-inning win in the Bulls’ finale against ECU. She recorded 19 strikeouts, allowing six hits and a pair of runs in her two outings.
