PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s lacrosse honors, for the week ending Monday, April 2.
Attacker of the Week
Maddie Gebert * Jr. * Temple
Gebert was Temple’s spark as the Owls earned their first American Athletic Conference victory on Saturday. She scored a season-high five goals as Temple downed UConn 17-13 on the road, adding an assist for six points. Gebert twice rattled off back-to-back goals at crucial moments, putting the Owls ahead 10-7 and later 13-10 in the tightly-contested second half with the Huskies.
Midfielder of the Week
Shannon Kavanagh * So. * Florida
Kavanagh notched her sixth-straight hat trick on Saturday, adding a pair of assists as Florida remained unbeaten in conference play with an 18-9 win over Vanderbilt. She was key in the Gators’ possession dominance, collecting a season-best nine draw controls and four ground balls. On the season, Kavanagh ranks in the conference’s top three in seven different statistical categories.
Defensive Player of the Week
Cara Trombetta * Jr. * D * Florida
Trombetta led a suffocating defensive effort by the Gators on Saturday in an 18-9 win over Vanderbilt, handing the Commodores just their third loss of the season. She totaled four ground balls, a draw control and two caused turnovers on the game, and became Florida’s all-time leader in caused turnovers in the process. Trombetta now has 88 caused turnovers on her career, bettering the previous mark of 87.
Freshman of the Week
Kylie Nause * M * Cincinnati
Nause earned her fourth-consecutive Freshman of the Week honor following another prolific offensive week for Cincinnati. In the Bearcats’ 19-6 win over Butler, she registered her seventh-straight hat trick with four goals, including two free-position scores. Nause then scored twice and dished out an assist in Cincinnati’s 14-5 league win at ECU, causing a turnover and collecting two ground balls.
Weekly Honor Roll

Posted back-to-back four-point games in two wins for Cincinnati, totaling six goals and two assists in victories over Butler and ECU; finished with 11 total draw controls on the week along with two ground balls and a caused turnover
Lindsey Ronbeck * Sr. * A * Florida
Registered three goals and two assists in the Gators’ 18-9 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday, posting her 10th hat trick of the season; moved into second all-time on the Florida career goals list and fourth on the NCAA active career list (204 career goals)
Maryn Lowell * Jr. * GK * Temple
Made 10 saves for Temple to secure a 17-13 league win over UConn on Saturday, while also leading all players with six ground balls and three caused turnovers
