Seven From The American On Maxwell Award Watch List

Seven players from the American Athletic Conference are among the 80 players nationally who have been named to the preseason watch list for the 83rd annual Maxwell Award, which goes to the national college player of the year.

Houston quarterback D'Eriq King, who was a semifinalist for the award last season, leads The American's contingent. 

King is joined on the watch list by UCF running back Adrian Killins, Navy quarterback Malcolm Perry, SMU wide receiver James Proche, Temple quarterback Anthony Russo, Memphis running back Patrick Taylor and Cincinnati running back Michael Warren II.

Semifinalists for the Maxwell Award will be announced Oct. 29. The three finalists will be named Nov. 25, and the winner will be announced Dec. 12.
