Cincinnati, Memphis and USF Earn Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s soccer honors for the fourth week of the 2019 season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Evelyne Viens · Sr. · F · USF
Viens earned her second-straight conference weekly honor after scoring two goals and assisting on a third in USF’s 3-2 win at Wake Forest on Sept. 15 in Winston-Salem, N.C. The senior also took eight shots against the Demon Deacons.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Stasia Mallin · Sr. · D · Memphis
Mallin anchored a Memphis backline that collected its fifth and sixth shutouts of the season. The senior also had a career-high four assists against Southeastern Louisiana on Sept. 12 and scored the game-winning goal against Central Arkansas on Sept. 15.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Madison Less · Jr. · GK · Cincinnati
Less played all 200 minutes for the Bearcats in two contests this week. She made two saves in Cincinnati’s 3-2 win at Lipscomb on Sept. 12 and posted a shutout with three saves to preserve a draw in a rivalry match against Xavier.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mya Jones · Fr. · M/F · Memphis
Jones had a goal and two assists for four points in two matches this past week. She scored her first career goal and assisted on the game-winning goal against Southeastern Louisiana and tallied an assist in a 2-0 win at Central Arkansas.
 
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Han Tang · Fr. · F · Cincinnati
Tang scored two goals, including the game-winning penalty for the Bearcats in a 3-2 win at Lipscomb on Sept. 12.
 
Hannah Allred · Jr. · F · SMU
Allred scored both goals for the Mustangs in a 2-0 win over Rice. She also recorded four shots in a 1-0 win over Long Beach State.
 
Katharine Herron · Sr. · D · SMU
Herron played all 180 minutes in two shutout wins for the Mustangs. She led the defense that allowed only three shots on goal in the two matches combined.
 
Morgan Basileo · Sr. · GK · Temple
Basileo made 17 saves in two matches this week, including 10 against Maryland on Sept. 12. She had a GAA of 0.82 in 220 minutes as the Owls drew both of their contests.
 
Zandy Soree · Sr. · F · UCF
Soree scored three goals in two matches this week for six points. She scored the game-winning goal against Arizona State on Sept. 12 before recording a brace against Stetson on Sept. 15.
