UCF’s Gabriel, Navy’s Perry, Temple’s Hand, Memphis’ Williams are Weekly Football Winners

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the third week of the 2019 college football season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Dillon Gabriel • UCF • Fr. • QB • Mililani, Hawaii
Gabriel completed 22 of 30 passes for 347 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-27 win against Stanford. Gabriel led an offense that gained 545 yards and scored touchdowns on its first four drives to help the Knights improve to 3-0.
 
Malcolm Perry • Navy • Sr. • QB • Clarksville, Tenn.
Perry figured in six touchdowns as he rushed for 156 yards and four TDs on 24 carries and completed 5 of 7 passes for 151 yards and two scores in a 42-10 win against ECU.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Harrison Hand • Temple • Jr. • CB • Cherry Hill, N.J.
Hand had a team-high 10 tackles and an interception that led to a Temple touchdown as the Owls took a 20-17 win against No. 21 Maryland, which that had scored a combined 142 points in its first two contests.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Adam Williams • Memphis • So. • P • Lebanon, Tenn.
Williams averaged 48.2 yards on four punts, with a long of 54 yards, in Memphis’ 42-6 win at South Alabama as the Tigers improved to 3-0.
 
HONOR ROLL
Michael Warren II • Cincinnati • Jr. • RB
Rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns and had five catches for 45 yards in a 35-13 win against Miami (Ohio).
 
Austin Hall • Memphis • Sr. • LB
Had six tackles, a pass breakup and two fumble recoveries, including a 48-yard TD in the win at South Alabama.
 
Jordan McCloud • USF • Fr. • QB
Threw for 217 yards and three scores rushed for 56 yards and two TDs in a 55-16 win against South Carolina State.
 
TJ McDaniel • SMU • Fr. • RB
Rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns on eight carries in  a 47-17 win against Texas State.
 
Jadan Blue • Temple • So. • WR
Had five receptions for 132 yards and a 79-yard touchdown in a 20-17 win against No. 21 Maryland.
