PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for the fourth week of the 2019 college football season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jalen McCleskey • Tulane • Sr. • WR • Covington, La.
McCleskey scored the game-winning touchdown on a 53-yard catch and run with three seconds left in regulation to give Tulane a 38-31 victory against Houston. McCleskey finished the game with four receptions for a game-high 120 yards and two touchdowns.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cooper Edmiston • Tulsa • Sr. • LB • Gatesville, Texas
Edmiston had a team-high nine tackles, including the pivotal defensive play in the final minute of Tulsa’s 24-21 win against previously unbeaten Wyoming. With the Cowboys threatening for the go-ahead touchdown, Edmiston registered a forced fumble at the 3-yard line with 50 seconds left to give Tulsa the ball and clinch the win.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jake Verity • ECU • Jr. • K • Bremen, Ga.
Verity accounted for 13 of the Pirates’ 19 points as ECU evened its record at 2-2 with a 19-7 win against William & Mary. Verity scored the last 12 points of the game, breaking a 7-7 tie with four field goals, connecting from 31, 33, 22 and 45 yards.

Had 124 all-purpose yards, including a conference-record 87-yard punt return for a touchdown, in a 35-34 loss at Pitt.

Was 23-of-34 for 288 yards and two touchdowns and added a rushing TD in a 41-38 win at No. 25 TCU.

Had eight tackles with 1.5 sacks and a pass breakup in a 41-38 win at No. 25 TCU.

Was 25-of-50 for 354 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-21 win against Wyoming.
