-Wichita State competed in a pair of home meets last weekend, hosting the Shocker Prelude on Friday and the KSU-KU-WSU Triangular on Saturday at the Heskett Center. The Shocker men placed second in both meets (combined score Saturday), while Wichita State took fourth on Friday in women’s action. Joseph Holthusen was the winner of the 60-meter hurdles on Friday with a time of 8.00, and Mel Obadiah raced to a victory in the 800-meter run (1:57.92) in his Shocker debut. Cody Landon (mile, 4:22.42), Weston Lewis (high jump, 2.03m./6-7.75), Ethan Feliciano (pole vault, 4.61m/15-1.50) and Michael Bryan (weight throw, 17.79m/58-4.50) added wins for Wichita State. On the women’s side, Danielle Rinn claimed the mile with a winning time of 5:12.43 and Amanda Kakoulias took the shot put with a top effort of 13.75m (45-1.25). In Saturday’s meet, Holthusen repeated in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.02, while Jed Helker claimed the 1000-meter run for the Wichita State men in 2:29.12. Rebekah Topham secured the women’s mile title in 4:53.84, Amiya Anoma took home the long jump (5.81m/19-0.50) and Sidney Sapp led the field in the high jump (1.75m/5-8.75) for the Shockers.
 
-Houston made its 2020 home debut with a successful showing at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational. Brendon Rivera cleared 2.05m (6-8.75) for gold in the men’s high jump, while Miles Marhofer brought home the win in the weight throw with a top effort of 20.55m (67-5.25). On the track, Travis Collins ran a blazing 6.70 to win the 60-meter dash and Dayo Akindele secured the 60-meter hurdles in 7.78. Mikaila Martin led the field in the women’s weight throw (18.80m/61-8.25), and Naomi Taylor added another 60-meter hurdles title this season with a time of 8.23 in the finals heat for the Cougars.
 
-Tulsa traveled to the Arkansas Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on Friday. Carsyn Spurgeon continued a strong season in the women’s long jump with a victorious effort of 6.00m (19-8.25), and Alison Bailey (600-meter run, 1:35.88) turned in an additional top-three finish for the Golden Hurricane. Jacob Brown ran a season-best 2:24.62 in the 1000-meter run to secure runner-up honors, and Scott Beattie turned in a time of 4:09.69 in the mile for third place.
 
-UConn scored three men’s event victories on Saturday while taking part in the Sorlien Memorial Invitational on Saturday in Kingston, Rhode Island. Myles Calhoun picked up the win for the Huskies in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.94, and Stephen Sutton took the victory in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.76. The UConn entry of Colt Nichols, Gregory Clark, Omar Gebril and Sutton won the 4x400-meter relay in 3:23.91. On the women’s side, Emma Chee established a program record in the pole vault by clearing a height of 3.95m (12-11.50) for the event win. Ericka Randazzo claimed the 5000-meter run in 17:43.21, with Elise O’Leary as the runner-up in the 800-meter run (2:17.08). Mikayla Rodgers was the top UConn competitor in the weight throw with a winning attempt of 17.66m (57-11.25).
 
-SMU kicked off its 2020 season at Houston by taking part in the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational. The Mustangs entry of Ashton Woods, Chika Iwuamadi, Chelsea Francis and Annette Bolomboy raced to victory in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:44.72. Francis added an individual win in the 60-meter dash (7.30), and Woods claimed the finals of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.93. Hannah Miller added a runner-up result in the mile with a time of 4:59.40.
 
-Tulane claimed three event wins on Friday at the Samford Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama. Trina Malej established a meet record in the triple jump with a winning effort of 12.52m (41-1.00), and added a runner-up result in the long jump (5.62m/18-5.25). Kyah Loyd raced to victory in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.58, with Brandi Hughes in second place with a time of 8.68. Maya Harewood was triumphant in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.36 for the Green Wave.
 
-Temple earned a pair of event victories on Saturday while taking part in the Penn 8-Team Select in Staten Island, New York. Howard raced to the win in the mile with a time of 4:51.01 in her season debut, while Alanna Lally was the top finisher in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.91. Helene Gottlieb placed third behind Lally in the 800-meter run (2:14.45), and Candus Burks finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.52m (37-9.5) for the Owls.
