Highlights
-Cincinnati claimed a Senior Day sweep over Xavier on Friday, taking a 223-70 men’s decision and a 208-83 women’s win in dual action. Michael Balcerak swept the 200 freestyle (1:40.87) and the 100 butterfly (:50.14), adding a win in the 200 medley relay alongside Dominic Polling, Blake Hanna and Alex Fortman (1:31.42). Polling added an individual victory in the 100 breaststroke (:56.06) and Hanna in the 200 backstroke (1:48.40) for Cincinnati. Rocky Laabs swept the 500 freestyle (5:01.73) and the 1650 freestyle (17:09.54) for the Bearcat women, while Claire Schuermann won both the 1-meter (297.82 points) and the 3-meter (311.32 points) diving events.
-UConn also enjoyed a successful effort on Senior Day, taking down Dartmouth 167-125 in men’s competition and 171-120 in women’s action at Wolff-Zackin Natatorium in Storrs. Will Kearsey, Cooper Knapp, Rowan King and Kyle Dunlap established a pool record with a winning time of 2:24.12 in the 400 medley relay, with Knapp adding a win in the 100 butterfly with a PR of :48.71. Kearsey turned in a pair of wins in the 100 freestyle (:45.26) and the 100 backstroke (:50.11), and Billy Reagan added victories in the 200 breaststroke (2:04.33) and the 200 IM (1:53.98) for the Huskies. Ryan Dulaney claimed the 500 freestyle (5:05.22) and the 1000 freestyle (10:21.51) for the UConn women, and Katelyn Walsh added a sweep in the 100 (1:05.40) and 200 (2:24.12) breaststroke.
-The SMU men’s squad dropped a pair of home dual decisions to West Virginia (182-117) and Incarnate Word (151-148) in Dallas. Petar Bozhilov was victorious in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:37.78, and Caleb Rhodenbaugh clocked the top time in the 200 breaststroke in 2:04.22. Stephen Cheng added a first-place time in the 200 backstroke (1:49.48), and Peter Smithson (3-meter, 340.20 points) and Parker Hardigree (1-meter, 343.80 points) swept the diving results for the Mustangs. Rhodenbaugh swept the breaststroke events in the matchup with Incarnate Word, securing the 100 (:56.68) and 200 (2:04.05) titles. Cheng added his second straight win in the 200 backstroke (1:49.66), with Smithson (3-meter, 348.08 points) and Hardigree (1-meter, 366.00 points) against standing out on the boards for SMU.
