Cincinnati's Ridder Named Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week

10.25.20

The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced that Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Ridder has been chosen as the National Offensive Player of the Week for games ending Oct. 24.

Ridder led Cincinnati to a 42-13 win against No. 16 SMU as he accounted for 305 yards of offense and four touchdowns against the previously unbeaten Mustangs. He rushed for 179 yards and three touchdown runs and was 13-of-21 passing for 126 yards and a TD. He capped his performance with a 91-yard touchdown run, which ranks as the fifth-longest rushing play in American Athletic Conference history and the second-longest by a quarterback.

Ridder is the first Cincinnati player to earn Walter Camp National Player of the Week honors. He is the third American Athletic Conference player to be so honored this season, joining UCF quarterback Dillon Gabriel and Memphis signal-caller Brady White.
