IRVING, Texas – The 2020 American Athletic Conference Football Championship Game will be televised nationally in prime time on ABC.
This year will mark the sixth consecutive season in which The American Football Championship Game is televised on ABC.
This year’s game will cap a conference championship tripleheader Saturday, Dec. 19, on ABC. The American Championship will kick off at 8 p.m. ET, following the Big 12 Championship at noon and the ACC Championship at 4 p.m.
The Championship Game will be played at the home stadium of the team with the highest winning percentage in conference games.
The American Football Championship has quickly become one of the most exciting games of the college football season. Memphis won a thrilling 29-24 matchup against Cincinnati last season in a game that produced seven lead changes, while UCF won a 62-55 double-overtime thriller against Memphis in 2017.
The five previous championship games, all on ABC, have drawn a combined television audience of 15.3 million viewers.
