PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the week-ending February 9.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gabby Fornia • A • Jr. • Vanderbilt • Mount Laurel, N.Y.
Fornia figured in half of Vanderbilt’s 14 goals, including the last two goals of the game, as the Commodores took a 14-11 road win against 2019 Northeast Conference champion Wagner. Fornia scored four goals and had three assists to go with a game-high six shots.

Shannon Kavanagh • M • Jr. • Florida • Smithtown, N.Y.
Kavanagh had four goals and a game-high 11 shots to go with two ground balls, two draw controls and a caused turnover in Florida’s 11-10 win against No. 18 Colorado. Kavanagh’s fourth goal, which came with 3:40 left, broke a 10-10 tie and stood up as the gamewinner.

Trombetta was instrumental in the Gators’ 11-10 win against No. 18 Colorado as she held the Buffaloes’ top attacker - a 26-goal scorer last season - to one goal and four shots. Trombetta finished with two ground balls and a caused turnover to help hold the Buffaloes to four second-half goals.

Sarah Reznick • G • RFr. • Florida • Long Beach, N.Y.
Reznick made 11 saves and had two ground balls to help Florida to an 11-10 win against No. 18 Colorado in her collegiate debut. She held the Buffaloes to 2-of-6 on free position shots and limited Colorado to two goals in the final 22 minutes, allowing the Gators to overcome an 8-6 second-half deficit.
