ECU's Francisco, Wichita State's Eddy Earn First Weekly Awards of Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I.—The American Athletic Conference announced its weekly baseball honors for Feb. 17.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Thomas Francisco, So., 1B/DH, ECU
Francisco hit 5-for-8 in three wins for the Pirates, leading the team with a .625 batting average along with four RBI and three walks. The sophomore reached base safely at least twice in every game and drove in a run in each contest against William & Mary.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Liam Eddy, Jr., RHP, Wichita State
Eddy struck out 10 batters while only allowing one hit and one run in eight innings of action in a 5-1 win for the Shockers at Northwestern State on Saturday (Feb. 15).
 
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
 
Jack Sinclair, Jr., RHP, UCF
Sinclair struck out 10 batters in four innings of relief with only one hit and no runs allowed on Sunday (Feb. 16) to lead UCF to a 10-2 victory over Siena and clinch a sweep.
 
Gephry Pena, So., OF, UCF
Pena helped lead UCF to a four-game sweep over Siena with a .385 batting average, including a home run and three RBI. The sophomore had a slugging percentage of .769 and scored four runs.
 
Nick Krauth, Jr., RHP, UConn
Krauth earned the win against then-No. 8 Michigan, striking out five while allowing five hits and only one unearned run in 5.2 innings of work on Sunday.
 
Carson Ragsdale, R-Jr., RHP, USF
In his first start since Tommy John surgery, Ragsdale struck out 10 and allowed one hit and one run in six innings of work against Marist on Sunday.
 
Ty Johnson, R-Sr., OF, Tulane
Johnson helped lead the Green Wave to a sweep of Florida Gulf Coast by hitting .556 with four runs scored and three stolen bases.
