PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced its Women’s Golf Player of the Week for the week of Monday, Feb. 17.

Smith picked up her second top-five finish and first collegiate victory in her fifth career start at USF, claiming medalist honors at the Old Friends Invitational at Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club in Tampa, Florida. The Bulls freshman carded scores of 71-71-70=212 (-4) to win the event by nine strokes. Along with finishing as the only golfer in the field under par at the conclusion of the tournament, Smith led all players in par-3 scoring (2.75, -3) and par-4 scoring (4.00, E), and ranked second in total birdies (10) and fourth in total pars (38). She was also the only player with multiple rounds at par or better on the par-72, 6,286-yard layout, and one of just eight golfers in the field to shoot a sub-72 round during the event.
