PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the week-ending February 23.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Megan Pallozzi • A • Jr. • East Carolina • Ellicott City, Md.
Pallozzi scored a game-high four goals in the Pirates’ 12-11 win against Campbell. With East Carolina trailing 11-10, Pallozzi tied the game with 6:14 left before striking for the gamewinner with 3:00 to play.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Sydney Watson • M • Jr. • UConn • Prince Frederick, Md.
Watson led the Huskies to wins against UMass Lowell and New Hampshire as she combined for 12 goals, two assists, five ground balls and 21 draw controls in the two games. She scored eight goals and 14 draw controls in a 20-14 win against UMass Lowell and had four goals and seven draw controls in a 21-8 victory against New Hampshire.

Vernon made nine saves and had two ground balls to lead the Pirates to a 12-11 win against Campbell. Vernon secured the win with a big stop on a free position shot in the final three minutes.

McCauley scored two goals and had three draw controls in each of Vanderbilt’s two wins last week. She scored the gamewinner in overtime to give the Commodores a 13-12 win against Lehigh.

Had four goals and three assists to figure in seven of Cincinnati’s 10 goals in a 15-10 loss at Ohio State.

Had six ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers in a 15-10 loss at Ohio State.
Lia LaPrise • M • So. • UConn • Windsor, Conn.
Scored six goals with seven assists in a 2-0 week. Had hat tricks in each of the two games.

Scored four goals and had three ground balls, 11 draw controls and three caused turnovers in a 1-1 week.

Had six goals and 10 draw controls in the Commodores’ 2-0 week. Scored five goals in a 21-11 win at Kennesaw State.
