Tulane's Olthoff, UCF's Rathbone Earn Baseball Weekly Awards

PROVIDENCE, R.I.—The American Athletic Conference announced its weekly baseball honors for Feb. 24.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jordan Rathbone, R-Sr., UTL, UCF
Rathbone aided the Knights to a sweep of No. 8 Auburn by hitting .438 for the week (7-for-16) with seven runs scored, three home runs and seven RBI.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Braden Olthoff, Jr., RHP, Tulane
Olthoff threw a gem against No. 24 Cal State Fullerton on Friday night (Feb. 21), tossing a complete-game shutout with only three hits and one walk allowed along with 16 strikeouts in a 1-0 win.
 
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
 
Garrett Kocis, Jr., 1B, Wichita State
Kocis helped lead Wichita State to a sweep over Texas Southern by hitting .364 (4-for-11) with two runs scored, one home run and eight RBI.
 
Kyler Fedko, Jr., INF, UConn
Fedko aided the Huskies to a series win over No. 1 Michigan by hitting .636 (7-for-11) with three runs scored, three extra base hits and four runs driven in.
 
Bryson Worrell, Jr., OF, ECU
Worrell and the Pirates swept Georgia Southern over the weekend, and the junior hit .583 (7-for-12) with two runs, a home run, three doubles and four RBI across four games last week.
 
Jeff Hakanson, Jr., RHP, UCF
Hakanson shut the door for the Knights, picking up two saves against No. 8 Auburn. In three appearances last week, he only had one walk, did not allow a hit or a run and struck out seven in 3.1 innings of work.
 
Alec Burleson, Jr., LHP/1B, ECU
Burleson pitched 8.0 shutout innings with two hits and seven strikeouts in a 3-0 win over Georgia Southern on Friday night.
