PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 23.
Player of the Week
Jada Cody * Fr. * INF * UCF
Cody was the most clutch offensive player for UCF in a 4-0 weekend that included a pair of run-rule sweeps of then No. 12 Tennessee. Cody batted .500 with a home run, six RBI, a 1.600 OPS and six runs scored at the USF Invitational in Tampa. She opened the tournament 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored in a 10-1 drubbing of Tennessee (Feb. 21) in five innings. Cody added two more hits with an RBI and a run scored the following day in a 9-1 abbreviated win over the Volunteers (Feb. 22) before tripling and notching an RBI and a run against FIU (Feb. 22). She closed the tournament by reaching base in three of four plate appearances, driving in one and scoring what was ultimately the winning run of a rematch with FIU (Feb. 23).
Pitcher of the Week
Georgina Corrick * Jr. * RHP * USF
Corrick enjoyed her best weekend of the season during USF’s home invitational, posting a 4-0 record and 0.69 ERA in sweeps of Tennessee and FIU. Opposing batters hit just .141 against the two-time American Pitcher of the Year over 20.1 innings for the weekend. Corrick and teammate Vivian Ponn teamed up for just the third combined no-hitter in American history in a 7-1 win over FIU (Feb. 21), with Corrick tossing six innings of one-run softball (unearned) with no walks and a season-high 11 strikeouts. She then fashioned a five-hit performance with only one walk allowed and six strikeouts against Tennessee (Feb. 22) before picking up the final out in the top of the eighth to earn the win in a 5-4 walk-off against FIU (Feb. 22). Corrick closed the tournament with a second straight complete game victory over Tennessee (Feb. 23), spinning another five-hitter with five strikeouts to down the No. 12 Volunteers.

Batted .526 with six extra-base hits, eight RBI and five runs scored in a 6-0 week for Houston; drove in three runs in a midweek win over Sam Houston State (Feb. 19), tallied three hits and four RBI in a run-rule win over Syracuse (Feb. 21) and scored three runs in a six-inning victory over Princeton (Feb. 22)
Alea White * Sr. * RHP * UCF
Went 2-0 with a 0.58 ERA in a pair of starts at the USF Invitational for undefeated UCF; scattered five hits and struck out five batters in a five-inning triumph over No. 12 Tennessee (Feb. 21) and allowed a lone unearned run with 10 strikeouts in a complete game against FIU (Feb. 23)
Gracie Morton * So. * OF * Memphis
Batted .412 with seven hits and seven RBI to lead Memphis at the South Alabama Mardi Gras Classic; went 3-for-4 with three RBI and three runs in the first game against South Alabama (Feb. 21) before logging a pair of hits and two RBI the following day against the host Jaguars (Feb. 22)
Rachel McCollum * RSr. * INF * East Carolina
Powered East Carolina with a .571 batting average, four RBI and five runs in a three-game sweep of the Pirate Invitational; had two RBI in wins over UMass (Feb. 22) and Pittsburgh (Feb. 23) and scored three times in an extra-innings win over Towson (Feb. 23)
Brooke Hartman * Sr. * INF * USF
Batted .500 with a 1.155 OPS and four RBI for USF during an unbeaten weekend at the USF Invitational; roped two hits and drove in two runs against FIU (Feb. 21) and recorded the game-tying RBI in the second win of the tournament over No. 12 Tennessee (Feb. 23)
