PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly indoor track & field honors for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 2.
 
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Aaron Bienenfeld * Sr. * Cincinnati
Bienenfeld placed third in the 3000-meter run at the Indiana University Relays with a PR time of 8:01.89. His time in the distance leads all runners in The American this season and ranks 21st nationally in the event.
 
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Ryan Davis * Sr. * East Carolina
Davis established an East Carolina program record in the weight throw with a win at the South Carolina Challenge. His victorious attempt of 22.20m (72-10) was the best in The American thus far this season and ranks fourth in the NCAA.
 
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Chelsea Francis * Sr. * SMU
Francis notched an impressive win in the 60-meter dash at the Houston G5 and Super 22 Invitational, crossing the finish line in 7.17. She leads the conference and ranks third in the NCAA in the 60-meter dash in 2020.
 
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Taylor Scaife * Sr. * Houston
Scaife picked up her second victory in the weight throw this season by way of a win at the Houston G5 and Super 22 Invitational. Her triumphant throw of 21.28m (69-9.75) ranks second in The American and 14th nationally this season.
