Memphis’ Fankam Mendjiadeu, Beck Complete Week Nine Women’s Basketball Awards Sweep

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 24.
 
Player of the Week
Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu * Sr. * F * Memphis

Fankam Mendjiadeu was a force down low for Memphis in a 2-0 conference week, averaging 13.5 points and a conference-high 14.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots per game. She posted 17 points, 14 rebounds (seven offensive), four blocks and two steals in a road win at Cincinnati on Jan. 20 before following up with 10 points, 14 boards (six offensive) and a pair of assists in a home win over Tulsa on Jan. 23. Fankam Mendjiadeu is The American leader with six double-doubles and tied for the conference lead with 11.5 rebounds per game this season, ranking in the national top 25 in both categories.
 
Freshman of the Week
Coriah Beck * Fr. * G * Memphis
Beck earned her first career weekly conference honor after enjoying two solid performances off the bench for 2-0 Memphis. Beck averaged 12.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 72.7 percent from the floor in only 47 minutes. She registered eight points and two rebounds at Cincinnati on Jan. 20 before exploding for 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting, six boards and two steals against Tulsa on Jan. 23.

Averaged 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per contest in a 1-1 Temple week; scored 14 points and logged six steals in a loss at Houston before rebounding with 21 points and three assists in a win over Wichita State

Scored 20 or more points for the 10th time in 12 starts this season, finishing with 24 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and three steals against Memphis

Registered first double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 rebounds, to go along with four steals, on the road at Tulsa
