IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s volleyball honors, for the week ending Sunday, October 10.
Offensive Player of the Week
Emme Madden * Fr. * S * Cincinnati
Madden played a huge role to anchor the Cincinnati offense in a pair of comfortable conference wins to move the Bearcats into a tie for first place in The American standings. Cincinnati led the league with a .295 team hitting percentage over the weekend, and Madden paced the conference with 13.14 assists per set in the 2-0 showing. In a sweep at East Carolina on Oct. 6, Madden logged 33 assists, three service aces and nine digs in the Bearcats win. In a four-set triumph at home against Temple on Oct. 10, Madden finished the match with 59 assists and nine digs.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kate Georgiades * So. * DS/L * Houston
Georgiades maintained a steady role as a force in the center of the Houston defense as the Cougars vaulted into a share of the conference’s top spot at 5-1. Georgiades led The American with 5.22 digs per set in a road sweep in the state of Florida. Georgiades logged 19 digs, a service ace and three assists for the Cougars in a five-set win at previously unbeaten UCF on Oct. 8. Georgiades closed the weekend with 28 digs and six helpers in a four-set win at South Florida on Oct. 10.

Ranked seventh in the conference with a .362 hitting percentage in a 1-1 UCF week; hit .346 with five block assists against Houston (Oct. 8) and added 11 kills on .381 hitting in a four-set win over Tulane (Oct. 10)
Sydney Kleinman * Sr. * OH * East Carolina
Finished eighth in The American with 3.92 points per set for East Carolina in a 1-1 weekend; logged 13 kills, two aces, three assists and seven digs in a sweep of Temple (Oct. 8)
Abbie Jackson * Jr. * OH * Houston
Registered 5.06 points per set to rank second in The American and chipped in 3.22 digs per set for unbeaten Houston on the road; compiled 20 kills, four aces, two block assists and 11 digs in a win at UCF (Oct. 8) and had 16 kills, five total blocks and 18 digs in a four-set win at South Florida (Oct. 10)
Avery Kalsu * So. * S * Tulsa
Tulsa posted the third-best team hitting percentage for the week at .259, and individually ranked third with 11.29 assists per set in a 2-0 week; recorded 35 assists, three block assists and 12 digs in a sweep at SMU (Oct. 8) and 44 assists and 17 digs in four sets at Memphis (Oct. 10)
Brylee Kelly * R-So. * OH * Wichita State
Led The American with 5.50 points per set in a 2-0 weekend for Wichita State; hit .282 with 16 kills and four digs at Memphis (Oct. 8) and threw down 29 kills on .361 hitting in a five-set win at SMU (Oct. 10)
