IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s soccer awards for the seventh week of the regular season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hailey Gutowski, Jr., F, Temple
Gutowski scored three goals in a 2-0 week for the Owls last week. She scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Houston on Sunday, Oct. 17, and added a goal in a 2-1 non-conference win over LIU.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Vivianne Bessette, Fr., D, South Florida
Bessette helped lead the Bulls’ defense in a 1-0 shutout on the road at Memphis, playing all 105 minutes. With the win, South Florida overtook the Tigers for first place in the league standings.
 
GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Sydney Martinez, Jr., South Florida
Martinez earned a shutout in a 1-0 double overtime victory at Memphis, recording six saves for the Bulls.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Haley McWhirter, M, East Carolina
McWhirter picked up her third consecutive Rookie of the Week honor after scoring a goal and recording an assist in East Carolina’s 2-2 draw with Tulsa on Sunday.
 
HONOR ROLL
Vanessa DiNardo, Sr., F, Cincinnati
DiNardo scored a pair of goals for the Bearcats in a 3-3 draw with SMU on Sunday. It was Cincinnati’s first multi-goal match in conference play since 2019.
 
Tori Riggs, Gr., F, East Carolina
Riggs scored a goal and added an assist in a 2-2 draw against Tulsa.

Katie Kitching, Sr., M, South Florida
Kitching scored the game-winning goal in double overtime as the Bulls won on the road at Memphis, 1-0.
 
Kamryn Stablein, Jr., GK, Temple
Stablein recorded 11 saves in a 2-1 win over Houston on Sunday.
 
Sumaya Togba, Fr., F, Temple
Togba recorded a goal and an assist in a 2-0 week for the Owls. She provided an assist on the opening goal in a 2-1 win over Houston and scored the game winner in a 2-1 non-conference win over LIU.
 
Mia Darden, Sr., F, Tulsa
Darden scored a goal for the Golden Hurricane in a 2-2 draw with East Carolina on Sunday.
