UCF’s Travale, Piddon Sweep American Golf Players Of The Month For October

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s monthly golf honors, for the competition month ending Sunday, October 31.
 
Men’s Golf Player of the Month
Johnny Travale * Sr. * UCF
Travale turned in a pair of spectacular performances for UCF in October, logging a tournament win and adding a runner-up finish over the course of the month. Travale claimed individual medalist honors at the Carolina Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 11-12 at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Rounds of 69-70-70=209 (-7) on the par-72, 6,929-yard layout gave Travale the victory by one stroke, and the UCF senior led the field with a 4.33 stroke average (-8) on par-5s. Travale added a runner-up showing at the Isleworth Collegiate on Oct. 17-19 at Isleworth Country Club in Windermere, Florida, compiling rounds of 70-71-69=210 (-6) on the par-72, 7,544-yard track to finish one shot off the pace.
 
Women’s Golf Player of the Month
Tunrada Piddon * Jr. * UCF
Piddon turned in the best tournament score in UCF program history on the way to a five-shot win at the Evie Odom Invitational on Oct. 3-5 at the Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Piddon shined with rounds of 67-66-67=200 (-10) to best the prior Knights scoring record established by Elizabeth Moon (-7 score of 203) at the 2018 edition of the Evie Odom Invitational (previously known as the Princess Anne Invitational). The highlight of Piddon’s final round was an ace at the par-3, 146-yard seventh hole that keyed a 3-under-par 32 on the front nine.
