IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, November 28.
Player of the Week
Sydni Harvey * Jr. * G * South Florida
Harvey rose to the occasion for No. 18/20 South Florida to help deliver two of the biggest wins in program history during a 2-0 week. Harvey averaged 18.5 points per game and shot .636 from beyond the arc for the Bulls in a pair of top-10 victories in the Bahamas. Harvey scored 22 points and added two steals in a win over No. 9 Oregon to cap the Battle 4 Atlantis on Nov. 22. Harvey then tallied 15 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with five seconds remaining, to lift South Florida past No. 7/5 Stanford on Nov. 26 at the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship.
Freshman of the Week
Aniya Gourdine * Fr. * G * Temple
Gourdine stepped up in a 1-1 Temple week, averaging 13.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, shooting .643 from the floor for the Owls. Gourdine hit 5-of-6 total shot attempts, including 2-of-3 from 3-point range, as part of a 17-point, four-rebound, four-assist performance in a Temple win at Villanova on Nov. 27.

Averaged 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per contest in a 2-0 UCF week at the Cancun Challenge in Mexico; scored 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting with three rebounds, four assists and three steals in a win against Idaho State (Nov. 26)
Jamirah Shutes * Sr. * G * Memphis
Logged 16.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game for 3-0 Memphis that included two wins at the LMU Thanksgiving Classic; scored 16 points at Liberty (Nov. 23), 16 points at Loyola Marymount (Nov. 26) and 17 points against Pennsylvania (Nov. 27)
Moon Ursin * R-Sr. * G * Tulane
Registered a double-double average of 13.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game to go along with 5.7 assists per contest in a 2-1 Tulane week; tallied 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds while dishing out eight assists in a win over Corpus Christ (Nov. 27)
Maya Mayberry * Sr. * G * Tulsa
Led The American with 21.5 points per game for the week and shot .583 from beyond the arc for first place Tulsa at the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament; scored 23 points in a win at Florida Atlantic (Nov. 26) and added 20 points and two assists the following day to beat Austin Peay (Nov. 27)
Jane Asinde * Jr. * F * Wichita State
Averaged 15.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game for 2-0 Wichita State, shooting .667 for the week; scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in first career start against Prairie View A&M (Nov. 23) and chipped in 14 points and 11 boards against Alcorn State (Nov. 26)
