Memphis, South Florida, SMU Earn NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship Bids

IRVING, Texas –
Three teams from the American Athletic Conference - Memphis, South Florida and SMU - all earned selections to the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship.
 
Memphis (13-4-2), the 2021 American Athletic Conference Championship winners, will host LSU (11-7-1) in the first round on Sunday, November 14 at 2 p.m. Eastern. The winner will advance to the second round to face the winner of No. 1 seed Duke (13-3-1) and Old Dominion (13-4-1). The Tigers are making their fourth consecutive NCAA Championship appearance and 10th trip overall.
 
South Florida (12-3-3), The American’s regular-season champions, will face NC State (8-8-2) in the first round on Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern in Tampa. The winner will take on the winner of No. 4 seed Pepperdine (15-3-1) and South Dakota State (14-3-1) in the second round. The Bulls have advanced to the NCAA Championship for a fifth-consecutive season and are making their eighth NCAA appearance overall.
 
SMU (11-4-2) finished fourth in The American’s regular season and advanced to the conference tournament’s semifinals. The Mustangs will host Texas (11-4-6) in the first round on Sunday at 2 p.m. Eastern. The winner will move on to face the winner of No. 1 seed Florida State (16-1-2) and South Alabama (12-4-3) in the second round. The Mustangs are making their 14th NCAA Championship appearance.
