IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s volleyball honors, for the week ending Sunday, November 7.
Offensive Player of the Week
Anne-Marie Watson * 5th * RS * UCF
Watson was a force in a pair of road matches for UCF to help run the active winning streak to nine for the Knights. Watson ranked second in The American among eligible players with a .522 hitting percentage and third with 1.25 blocks per set, turning in the fifth-most points per frame for the week at 4.38. Watson logged 14 kills on .440 hitting to go along with eight total blocks (one solo) in a five-set comeback win at Cincinnati on Nov. 5. Watson kept the momentum rolling with a blistering .619 hitting percentage and 15 kills in a sweep at East Carolina on Nov. 7.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kate Georgiades * So. * DS/L * Houston
Georgiades led the conference with 6.62 digs per set and 53 total digs on the road at two RPI top-125 foes for 2-0 Houston. Georgiades opened the weekend with 39 digs and nine assists for the Cougars in a five-set victory at Wichita State on Nov. 5. Georgiades chipped in 14 digs in just three sets to key a Houston sweep at Tulsa on Nov. 7.

Ranked third in The American with 5.25 points per set and 11th with 3.62 digs per set on the road for 2-0 UCF; went for 17 kills and 18 digs in a five-set thriller at Cincinnati (Nov. 5) and hit .300 with 18 kills and 11 digs in a sweep of East Carolina (Nov. 7)
Sabrina Bianco * Sr. * S * Memphis
Was second in the conference with 11.11 assists per frame and seventh with 4.00 digs per set for 2-0 Memphis; recorded 53 assists, three aces and 16 digs against SMU (Nov. 3) and went for 47 assists and 20 digs at Temple (Nov. 5)
Kaylyn Winkler * Sr. * MB * SMU
Ranked second in The American with 1.50 blocks per set and led the league with 12 total blocks during a 1-1 SMU road swing; turned in six block assists at Memphis (Nov. 3) before finishing the week with seven kills, two digs and six blocks (one solo) in a win at Temple (Nov. 7)
Kayla Dinkins * Sr. * MH * Tulane
Led all conference players with 1.67 blocks per set and finished sixth with 3.92 points per set in a 1-1 Tulane road trip; hit .400 with 10 kills and seven block assists in a sweep of Tulsa (Nov. 5) and added eight kills on .353 hitting at Wichita State (Nov. 7)
Sophia Rohling * So. * RS * Wichita State
Hit at a .344 clip and averaged 3.75 points per set for 1-1 Wichita State; registered 19 kills and two block assists in a five-set loss to Houston (Nov. 5) but bounced back with nine kills on .350 hitting in a sweep of Tulane (Nov. 7)
