IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s volleyball honors, for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 31.
Offensive Player of the Week
McKenna Melville * Jr. * OH * UCF
Melville was a standout on the attack for UCF in a 3-0 opening week, guiding the Knights in a win over FAU and a two-match sweep of North Florida. Melville ranked third in The American with 5.15 points per set, sixth with a .382 hitting percentage and second with 4.40 kills per set, adding in 1.80 digs and 0.70 blocks per frame. She hit .306 with 13 kills and seven digs in four sets against FAU on Jan. 26 before hitting .452 and .375, respectively, in straight-set victories against North Florida on Jan. 30-31.
Defensive Player of the Week
Torie Frederick * Jr. * L * Houston
Frederick helped key the Houston lineup in an impressive doubleheader sweep of Southland Conference power Stephen F. Austin on Jan. 28. Frederick led The American with 5.29 digs per set (37 total digs) over seven sets played against the Ladyjacks, adding five assists and two services aces to her stat line. She recorded 27 digs in a four-set win to open the day before logging 10 digs in a dominant Cougar sweep in the nightcap.

Hit a conference-high .611 in a nonconference sweep for Memphis against Louisiana Tech; logged a .789 hitting percentage with 16 kills in the second match against the Lady Techsters on Jan. 30

Ranked second in The American with 1.50 blocks per set and fourth with a .444 hitting percentage in a 3-0 UCF week; hit .500 in both matches and turned in nine total blocks (one solo) in three-set sweeps of North Florida on Jan. 30-31
Abbie Jackson * So. * OH * Houston
Ranked eighth in the conference with 4.14 points per set, 10th with 3.29 digs per set and 13th with a .299 hitting percentage for 2-0 Houston; recorded a double-double with 20 kills and 15 digs on .366 hitting in match one against Stephen F. Austin on Jan. 28
Jadyn Bauss * So. * OH * SMU
Finished ninth with 4.12 points per set and 12th with 3.12 digs per set in a pair of double-doubles for SMU against Rice; hit .478 with 12 kills and 11 digs in a match two sweep of the Owls on Jan. 30
Miray Bolukbasi * Jr. * OH * Temple
Averaged a conference-high 6.13 points per set and was 10th with a .333 hitting percentage in a four-set win against UConn on Jan. 30; finished the match against the Huskies with 23 kills and eight digs
