IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s soccer awards.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ellie Moreno, So., F, UCF
Moreno scored the late game-winning goal for the Knights against a stingy Cincinnati defense on Feb. 21. For the game, the sophomore forward recorded a pair of shots.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Paula Leblic, Sr., M, USF
Leblic assisted on the game-winning goal and also recorded a goal of her own on a free kick against Temple on Feb. 21. The defensive midfielder also aided the Bulls’ defense that did not allow a shot on goal against the Owls.
GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Kamryn Stablein, Jr., Temple
Stablein made 19 saves over two matches last week. The junior made nine saves in a shutout win over Villanova on Feb. 17 before making 10 saves against USF on Feb. 21.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Chiara Hahn, DM, USF
Hahn was instrumental in the Bulls’ defense that did not allow a shot on goal against Temple on Feb. 21.
HONOR ROLL
Caroline DeLisle, R-So., GK, UCF
DeLisle posted her second clean sheet of the season and 12
th of her career with a shutout against Cincinnati on Feb. 21.
Mathilde Kack, Jr., D, UCF
Kack led the Knights’ defense to a shutout of Cincinnati, allowing only three shots and one shot on goal.
Morgan Dewey, R-Jr., D, East Carolina
Dewey scored for the Pirates in a non-conference match at VCU on Feb. 20.
Katie Kitching, Jr., M, USF
Kitching scored the game-winning goal for the Bulls against Temple on Feb. 21.
Sydney Martinez, Jr., GK, USF
Martinez commanded the Bulls’ defense to her second straight shutout against Temple on Feb. 21.
